Privacy Policy

CourtFuel ("we", "us", "our") is a basketball-specific nutrition app developed by the CourtFuel team. This Privacy Policy explains what data CourtFuel collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you provide:

Player profile: your name, age, gender, height, weight, basketball position, level, and goal — entered during onboarding to personalise your nutrition analysis.
Meal scans: photos you choose to scan within the app, along with the AI-generated nutrition analysis of those photos.
Hydration logs: water intake you record manually.
Scheduled events: practices, games, and other events you add to your schedule.
Fuel plan preferences: dietary requirements, budget, supermarket choices, food preferences (used to generate weekly meal plans for Pro subscribers).
Apple ID identifier: when you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier that lets you sign back in across sessions. We do not receive your real Apple ID email unless you choose to share it.

Information collected automatically:

We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or location data.
We do not use third-party analytics or tracking in this version.
We do not collect crash reports automatically in this version.

How we use your information

To personalise nutrition analysis — your player profile is sent to our AI vision provider (Anthropic) along with each meal scan to generate basketball-specific scoring.
To generate weekly meal plans — your fuel preferences are sent to Anthropic to generate plans matched to your needs.
To remember your account — your Apple ID identifier is stored locally on your device (in iOS Keychain) to recognise you on return.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for marketing.

Third-party services

CourtFuel uses Anthropic's Claude API to generate meal scan analysis and weekly meal plans. When you scan a meal or generate a plan, the relevant data (image and your player profile, or your fuel preferences) is sent to Anthropic. Anthropic's privacy practices are documented at https://www.anthropic.com/privacy.

We use Apple's StoreKit for subscription processing. Subscription transactions are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

We use Apple's Sign in with Apple for authentication. This is governed by Apple's terms.

Where your data is stored

Player profile, scans, hydration logs, schedule, and meal plans are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
Your Apple ID identifier is stored in iOS Keychain (encrypted by iOS).
Meal scan images and player profile data are sent to Anthropic at the moment of analysis, but are not retained by CourtFuel beyond what you see in the app's "Recently Logged" section (stored locally on your device).
We do not currently use a backend server — there is no cloud copy of your data.

Data retention and deletion

All your data is stored on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes all data.
You can delete your account from within the app: Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your player card, scans, hydration logs, schedule, and meal plans.
To revoke Sign in with Apple access, visit Settings → Apple ID → Apps Using Apple ID on your device.

Children's privacy

CourtFuel is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you are under 13, please do not use the app. If we become aware that a user under 13 has used the app, we will delete any associated data.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you (visible within the app at any time)
Delete your data (in-app or by uninstalling)
Contact us with questions about privacy

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves (for example, when we add cross-device sync or analytics). Material changes will be communicated within the app before they take effect.
